# Approve a file slot (brand only)

> Marks the current version of the file slot as approved (status = FILE_APPROVED). Brand-only. A voided or already-approved slot cannot be approved. Sends approval notifications to the athlete (and agent if any). Notification type: `deal-folder-file-approved` (see `DealFolderNotificationType`). If this approval makes the deal folder fully complete, the 'Deal Folder No Longer Available' notifications are dispatched (these revert to the legacy `notifications.type = 'job'`).
